Malaysian-Chinese Comfort Food near Limmatplatz

On Limmatstrasse 189, a couple of hundred meters away from the traffic of Limmatplatz, A Fatt is one of my neighbourhood favourites: with this cold and wet weather, it offers warm light, simple tables, and amazing homestyle comfort food.

The food is Malaysian-Chinese, shaped by Malay, Chinese and Indian influences. Curry, sambal, and soy sauce for the seasoning, Chinese classics along side with Malaysian dishes - all just a little more spicy.

A Fatt is also make solid dim sum. When we visited, we tried the cabbage salad, Ha Gau dumplings, radish cakes, egg tofu, stir-fried green veggies - all delicious, no notes. We even had the rest wrap up and had a nice lunch for the next office day.

What stands out is the homely feeling. The restaurant must have been a traditional Swiss Beiz at one point but A Fatt made it their own. Guests seem to be regulars from the neighbourhood, but it's worth the trip even if you're not local.
